February opening hours and services

Self-service library continues in February as per university’s coronavirus-related guidelines.

Updated February 2.: Added the information that loan due dates have been changed and the latest pick-up date for reservations have been moved. For library customers outside Uniarts, the library offers the opportunity to return loans.

Updated January 29.: Added the information that the self-service libraries in Helsinki are only accessible to Uniarts students and staff.

Library services in Helsinki will be available to a limited extent as a self-service library in February. Please maintain a 2-metre safety distance to others and wear a mask at the university unless you have a specific health-related reason to not wear one. See the safety measures concerning the use of Uniarts Helsinki facilities.

The self-service libraries in Helsinki during February are accessible only to Uniarts Helsinki students, researchers and staff members with a personal access key. 

The restrictions do not apply to Kuopio library at the moment, and where the customer service is open Mon–Fri, 12–14. See also the self-service library opening hours. The regional coronavirus situation is being monitored and the opening hours and services may be changed accordingly.

Loan due dates have been changed to March 16, but please notice that loans that expired 19th of October or before, do not have a new due date. The latest pick-up date for reservations have been moved to March 22.

Patrons outside Uniarts may return their loans on February 19 at 14–17. Place: in front of Music Centre Sibelius Academy entrance, Töölönlahdenkatu 16 D. You can also return your loans by mail to any of the library units in Helsinki. Loans returned by mail are under the patron’s responsibility until they have arrived at the library.

Library users can collect the material they need independently from the shelves or by making a reservation, in which case they can pick up their material from the reservation shelf. The material will be loaned using the self-service lending machine. If you forgot your library card home, you may use the mobile library card. Read the instructions for the use of the mobile library card. New student, contact the library if you need a library card in January. 

The service desks and listening rooms will be closed and library is open only for quick visit. Customer service is available by phone or email. Check the opening hours from Arsca. You may pay library fees only online. Read the instructions for online payment.

Computers may be used for quick printing and scanning. Electronic materials are available in Arsca, and with your Uniarts account you have access to all electronic collections 24/7. 

Interlibrary loan service for Uniarts users will remain closed for February.
