Library opening hours in summer
Sibelius Academy library in Helsinki is open to all patrons in June. Other library locations are closed.
Some corona restrictions are lifted as of June 3, and other library patrons than just Uniarts staff and students can also access the self-service library in Sibelius Academy library in Helsinki. Read more about opening hours and loan due dates and reservations.
Sibelius Academy library (Helsinki)
Sibelius Academy library in the Music Centre is open as a self-service library to all customers from June 3 to June 24. Customer service is available only via e-mail and telephone. Check the opening hours and telephone service hours from Arsca. Please note that the Sibelius Academy entrance on Töölönkatu is open longer than the entrance from Music Centre lobby. The library is closed from June 25 to August 16, 2021.
Please maintain a 2-metre safety distance to others and wear a mask at the university unless you have a specific health-related reason to not wear one. See the safety measures concerning the use of Uniarts Helsinki facilities.
Customers can collect the material they need independently from the shelves or by making a reservation, in which case they can pick up their material from the reservation shelf. The material will be loaned using the self-service lending machine. If you forgot your library card home, you may use the mobile library card. Read the instructions for the use of the mobile library card. Please contact the library if you need a library card.
You may pay library fees only online. Read the instructions for online payment.
Interlibrary loan service for Uniarts users is available until June 16.
Kuopio library
The Sibelius Academy’s Kuopio library is closed from May 29 to August 10. You can return your loans through the letterbox on Puijonkatu side from June 7 to June 17.
KuvA and TeaK
Academy of Fine Arts and Theatre Academy libraries were closed on April 30 due to the moving and merger of the libraries. The new Sörnäinen campus library opens in autumn 2021.
Loan due dates and reservations
Sibelius Academy, Helsinki
- if there are no reservations, the loans will be automatically renewed until September 8, but if there are reservations to the loans, their due date will be June 9
- due dates for new loans will be on September 8
- as of June 9 new reservation’ last pick-up date will be in September
Kuopio
- loan due dates have been moved to September 8
- last pick-up dates for new reservations is September 14
Academy of Fine Arts and Theatre Academy libraries’ loan due dates have been moved to October 1, 2021.You can make reservations to said libraries’ materials after August 16, and the processing of new reservations begins when the new library opens.
If your loan has expired October 19, 2020, or before, the due date hasn’t been moved. If your reservation has expired while the library has been closed due to corona restrictions, please make the reservation again, or contact the library if needed.
