All users may use the library's facilities, equipment and materials also during self-service hours.

The library’s versatile facilities can be used for browsing materials, quiet working environments and doing group work. See further library-specific information on facilities, booking group work and listening rooms, and equipment available in the facilities:
Using the self-service library
The Uniarts Helsinki library is open to all during self-service hours. Library customer service is not open during self-service hours. Töölö and Sörnäinen campus libraries have free admission during self-service hours. You will need a library card and PIN code to visit the Kuopio library after the customer service hours in the evenings and on Saturdays.
During library self-service hours, you can:
- borrow, renew and return materials with the self-service machine
- pick up reservations (remember to borrow!)
- use the library’s facilities
- use the library’s computers and electronic materials
- make reservations, renew loans and pay fees in Arsca (instructions)
- view thesis and other materials in Uniarts Helsinki’s publication archive Taju from the open network (Open Access) and from Taju terminals.
- obtain a library card in Tuudo if you are a student or employee of Uniarts Helsinki (link to Tuudo instructions)
- change the PIN code of your library card (instructions)
During the library service hours, you can also:
- deal directly with personnel
- obtain a library card from the library customer service
- pick interlibrary loans you have ordered from other libraries
- pay fees at the counter (library does not accept cash payments)
