Methods of payment
Major credit and debit cards (Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro) on location and online payments in Arsca.
It is not possible to pay with cash at the Uniarts Helsinki library units.
Prices are VAT-exempt unless otherwise stated.
Overdue fines
- 28-day loans: 0.20€ / item / day, max 6.00€
- 0.40€ / item / day, max 12.00€
- Invoicing costs: 10€
The higher 0.40€ overdue fine applies to short loan collections:
- Kuopio Library course books and Christmas sheet music
- Sörnäinen Campus Library course books and DVDs
- Töölö Campus Library theses available for borrowing
The overdue fine accumulates daily after the due date until the loan is renewed or returned, up to a maximum of 30 days. Overdue fines are max 20€ / customer (or 30€ / customer if a bill has been sent for the unreturned material).
Compensating lost or damaged materials
In determining the compensation price, the library adheres to the following categories.
If the acquisition price of the material is higher than the category indicated in the price list, the customer is charged the acquisition price, including costs.
The library reserves the right to determine the compensation price for the material.
- Books: 80€
- Journals: 25€
- Sheet music:
- I category 30€ (e.g. single choir works or songs)
- II category 60€ (e.g. chamber music, aria collections)
- III category 90€ (e.g. full scores, modern music)
- the library reserves the right to determine which category the replaced sheet music belongs to
- Folder: 7€
- Composers’ collected works: the price is determined on a case-by-case basis.
- DVDs: 100€
- Theses: 100€
- CDs:
- 1-3 CDs: 30e
- 4-6 CDs: 70e
- 7 CDs or more: 100e
- Play copies: 20€
- Replacing a lost library card: 3€
The compensation price compensates for the damage caused by the damaging or loss of the material. Paying the compensation price does not mean that when the customer pays the compensation price for the damaged material, ownership of the material in question is transferred to the customer.
The material can also be replaced by providing the library with new corresponding material (same or newer edition). This must be agreed in advance with the library.

Single copies: 0.40€ / page (b/w); 1€ / page (colour)
N.B: At the moment copying and printing is only available to the Uniarts students and staff.

Article copies from Finland: Priced by the sending library (free of charge from the National Repository Library)
Interlibrary loan from abroad: Priced by the loaning library plus the postal costs for returning the material

Interlibrary loans to libraries (only outside the Metropolitan area)
Interlibrary loan: 9€ / item
Article copies: 6 € / article (other copies are case-specific)
