Library facilities open gradually in fall semester

Uniarts Helsinki libraries will open in phases in August and September.

Updated 20.8.: renewals of the loans and visiting the library.

With the new semester at hand, the library facilities will be opened after summer. 

  • Kuopio library opens on August 11, 2021. 
  • Sibelius Academy library in Töölö opens to all patrons on August 16, 2021. 
  • The new Sörnäinen campus library (Academy of Fine Arts and Theatre Academy) opens to all patrons on September 27th after the renovation is complete.

Safety and restrictions

Please maintain a 2-metre safety distance to others and wear a mask at the university unless you have a specific health-related reason to not wear one, and take good care of hand hygiene. You cannot come to the university if you are sick. If you have a fever, symptoms of a flu, stomach symptoms or other coronavirus-related symptoms, you cannot come on campus.

We recommend that you handle your business at the library swiftly. It is possible to reserve materials beforehand on the pick-up shelf. The listening rooms and the reading room in Sibelius Academy library in Helsinki are available with restricted number of users at a time. Customer computers are available for short term use. 

The regional coronavirus situation is being monitored and the opening hours and services may be changed accordingly. 

Inter-library loan service 

The inter-library loan service is available to Uniarts students and staff at Sibelius Academy libraries in Helsinki and Kuopio from August 16. 

Loan due dates and reservations  

Remember to renew your loans in search service Arsca, please.

Sibelius Academy library, Helsinki and Kuopio: 

  • due dates are on September 8, 2021 
  • the last pickup date for reservations is on September 14, 2021. 

The due date for Academy of Fine Arts and Theatre Academy materials is October 1, 2021. You can make reservations to materials in these libraries from August 16, and their handling will begin when the new Sörnäinen campus library opens.
