Laura, the database of Finnish translations of song texts

Laura, translation database for song texts, contains over 6000 Finnish translations of classical singing repertoires.

Remote and balcony choirs have been popular ways of connecting in 2020. The Finnish database for song texts, Laura, is maintained by the University of the Arts Library. From Laura you can find translations of classical singing repertoires, not only for familiar but also for many unknown songs. The database is open to everyone.

At the moment (July 2020) you may find from the database:

  • 4465 texts 
  • 6194 translations 
  • 187 translators 
  • 964 text authors 
  • 768 composers
