AI-based search tool Keenious now in use at the Uniarts Helsinki
The library has acquired an AI-based application tool called Keenious for Uniarts Helsinki for the year 2024.
You get to use all the features of Keenious when you create an account for Keenious through this link by using your uniarts.fi email address. For example, creating an account allows you to save search results.
You can also use Keenious without creating an account if you use the link on the library’s database list (direct link to Keenious, requires Uniarts login).
In Keenious you search for sources with the text of your choice instead of keywords. For example, you can search by the text you have written or by an article that interests you. Keenious analyzes the text and searches for sources on the same topic among hundreds of millions of publications. As a source, Keenious uses the OpenAlex database, which contains metadata from research publications. As a search result, you will receive suggestions for articles that are similar in content to the text you are searching for. Keenious also produces a list of topics to which it interprets the text used as a search as related to.
Keenious works in almost all languages, but you get the best results with English text.
More information on the possibilities of using Keenious and instructions for using the tool can be found in the library’s Keenious guide.
Coming: the presentation of Keenious to the university students and staff
There will be an English-language webinar on the use of Keenious for Uniarts Helsinki students and staff on 23rd May 2024 at 10.30–11.30 a.m. The webinar is organized by Keenious. The library will provide more information about the webinar in the near future.
